Think Pink!

KelMarie Studios is excited to announce a partnership with Think Pink Photography. Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a charitable organization that serves two main purposes – celebrating life and supporting the cause.

Through our professional photographer network, we are helping breast cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the breast cancer patient. Clients participating in a Think Pink Session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

To support the cause, we have partnered with The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. All funds generated through donations and various fundraising efforts are paid directly to The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. As a 3-time breast cancer survivor, Danielle Beverly and her husband Eric joined together to form a foundation dedicated to promoting education, increasing awareness, and providing support and resources for families who have been touched by breast cancer.

Please subscribe to our blog (on the Think Pink website) and tell your friends and family about Think Pink Photography. Awareness is everything and we can’t be successful without you.

I encourage you to view our website, make a donation, or hire a photographer that supports Think Pink Photography! If you hire me, mention Think Pink and I will make a personal donation to the organization. If you, or someone you know, would like to schedule a Think Pink session, please contact me for details.

I am very proud to be a network photographer with Think Pink Photography, and am anxious to get the word out about this amazing program. For more information, you can contact me, or you can visit the Think Pink Photography website at:

November 24, 2009

August of 2009 I headed out through the woods to Big Falls County Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Running in front of me were three adventurous little boys; Jonathan, Trevin and Kade.

These boys have adventure and exploring written all over their hearts. I followed them over through the woods, over rocks, by the river, watched them throw sticks, even team up together to throw in larger logs into the water. We climbed up, down, over and under to get some fun photos.

Thank you to Shannon and the 3 boys for going on a small adventure with me!
A few of the photos from the day can be seen below:

"Having three busy, hard to keep still boys, we were looking for someone different to get portraits of them. I came across Kelly's ad and she seemed perfect. I contacted her and she suggested Big Falls Park in EC.
She met us out at the park and had many ideas on capturing not only portraits of the boys together, but individually and candidly. She was very patient, easy going and more than willing to follow the three boys on their "adventure." She took TONS of photos, had the coolest ideas and was very willing to go with any ideas we had for photos too. She made sure that I was satisfied with our session and always asked if there was anything else we would like taken.
I have had a sneak peek of the photos and they are AWESOME! She captured what are boys are...BOYS! I love the photos and can't wait to see the rest. We also plan to book Kelly for our outdoors Family Unity Ceremony next summer. I am so looking forward to more of her beautiful pictures!! "

Summer time drives & sunflowers.

August 17, 2009

Driving around country roads is one of my favorite things to do on a beautiful day. I've loved driving since, well, I've been able to drive at the age of 14 (yes in Iowa we were allowed to get our learners permits at 14, I knew I loved that State for a reason!!!). When I got my first car (a 1996 Chevy Beretta Z26) I remember driving endlessly around the country roads out in Menomonie, Wisconsin just looking and taking in all of the beauty that surrounded me.

I think as a photographer I see things a little different as I drive along, maybe a little clearer and see things as 'scenes' vs. just barns, just old homes, or just fields. I feel so blessed to finally (I think!) have been able to find my gift from God, to capture his beauty and share it with others along the way.

The other day I was driving a normal route from RockFalls to Menomonie when I came across 4 or more huge fields full of beautiful sunflowers. If someone ever needs cheering up, this is definitely the place to go! I find sunflowers so fascinating and full of life, which is one of the reasons I will be having them as the main decorations/flowers in my wedding this October! I can completely see Gods' works when I look at a Sunflower, so large, so tall, reaching towards the sun, and fully dependent on someone to water them so they can grow to their full potential. Almost sounds a bit like our own lives, doesn't it? We are always striving for more, trying to reach our goals, and if we put our complete trust and faith in God, and allow him to 'water' us with his love, it is then that we will reach our full potential and find what he wants us to be.

Below are some of the sunflower photos that I took when driving by that field, enjoy!

See? Don't sunflowers just warm you up and put a smile on your face?! :)

The Adventure Begins.

Misty and Matt were the first couple to have their engagement photos taken by me. They were such a fun couple and I enjoyed being outdoors surrounded by beautiful scenery doing what I love to do best!

We started in Rock Falls and made our way into Eau Claire at a County Park, we were thankful we were only getting hit by a few sprinkles and not a down pour of rain!

Near the end of the shoot we decided to go back down by the 'beach' on the river to get a few last shots before the session ended. Once down there, a few interesting people came by on horse-back and asked if Misty and Matt wanted to get photos up on their horses, I said "Yes!" What a fun opportunity that we may have nearly missed if we didn't go back down that way!

Life is an adventure, and this first engagement photo shoot with Misty and Matt has led me to create a new photography package called "The Adventure Package", which is explained on the 'Pricing' page.

That is why I live my life the way I do, I love being spontaneous and just living life as each moment comes to you....because you never know what is around the next corner, unless you keep going! I believe the same goes for marriage, it is an adventure all in it's own and can be the best adventure of your life if you let it.

The rest of the photos from this photo shoot can be viewed here : http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=96639&id=114554678608&ref=mf

A special thank you to Misty and Matt for putting up with the sprinkles, mosquitos, hiking ..and even Matt's glasses falling down that steep hill! I wish you both the best of luck in your new adventure together!

"Matt and I just love our engagement pictures! We're so happy we found you! We loved the beautiful places we visited! I really love our pictures by the barn because one of them will make the perfect "Save the Date", since we are getting married at a farm and having our reception in a barn! Also how cool that we ran in to the people with the horses! I will always remember that special moment, my first time on a horse! Thanks again! I am so happy we decided to have you do our pictures!"

A Beautiful day!

July 20th, 2009

I enjoyed a beautiful day on Wednesday at the Farmer's Market in downtown Eau Claire with my almost one year old daughter Camryn and my five year old son Rayce. We enjoyed looking at all of the fresh fruits and vegetables and sat down for a quick egg roll in the park. We also went for a walk along side the river near Phoenix Park and I found some beautiful wild flowers lingering along side the path.
